Molecular Karyotyping
Array Comparative Genomic Hybridization (a-CGH) is a high-technology method, which is used to detect small deficiencies and additions that are not visible with a microscope.
It is used for deletion and duplication tests below 5Mb, where karyotyping is insufficient. The increases or decreases in chromosome or chromosome regions in the whole genome, and the aneuploidies can be detected.
Changes in the amount of DNA are analyzed at high resolution; therefore, it is a very reliable method.
It can be used
– Mostly in children and in the diagnosis of mental problems,
– In cases of abnormal length/shortness,
– In the diagnosis of gender-related developmental problems,
– In the diagnosis of developmental disorders,
– It is also possible to use the aCGH method in prenatal and postnatal diagnosis,
